Katelyn Peterson of Dixon High and Angela Schykerynec of Orland High, both representing Golden State Throwers from California, placed second and third in the girls hammer throw final at Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Peterson had a sixth-round mark of 176-6 (53.80m) and Schykerynec also produced her best effort on her final attempt with a 174-2 (53.10m) performance.
